Professional Insulation Services.
Commercial-grade insulation for ductwork, piping, pumps, and mechanical equipment. Reducing energy loss, preventing condensation, and lowering noise levels across commercial HVAC systems.
Ductwork Insulation
Icebox installs fiberglass insulation on supply and return ductwork for new installations and existing systems. Duct insulation reduces thermal loss between the air handler and the occupied space, maintains supply-air temperatures closer to design setpoints, and reduces condensation risk on cold ductwork running through unconditioned spaces.
Insulation thickness, density, and vapor-barrier requirements are determined by project specifications and applicable energy codes. All ductwork insulation is installed to maintain continuous coverage with sealed joints and intact vapor barriers.
Piping Insulation
Icebox insulates chilled-water lines, hot-water piping, refrigerant lines, and condensate drains for commercial HVAC systems. Piping insulation prevents energy loss on heated lines, eliminates condensation (sweating) on chilled-water piping, and protects against freeze risk in exposed locations.
Vapor-barrier integrity is critical on cold-side piping. Icebox installs insulation with continuous vapor-barrier coverage and sealed seams to prevent moisture migration into the insulation layer — the primary cause of insulation failure and downstream water damage.
Equipment & Pump Insulation
Mechanical equipment including pumps, heat exchangers, expansion tanks, and valve assemblies are insulated to reduce energy loss and protect personnel from contact with hot surfaces. Removable insulation blankets are used where access for maintenance is required, allowing technicians to service equipment without permanently disturbing the insulation.
Insulation Replacement & Repair
Existing insulation deteriorates over time due to moisture intrusion, physical damage, vibration, and modifications made during other trades' work. Icebox removes and replaces damaged or missing insulation on ductwork, piping, and equipment — restoring thermal performance and condensation protection to the original specification.
Common triggers for insulation replacement include equipment changeouts, tenant build-out modifications, roof leak damage, and sections disturbed during plumbing or electrical work.
Why Insulation Matters
Energy Efficiency
Insulation reduces thermal transfer between conditioned systems and the surrounding environment. Less energy lost in distribution means lower equipment runtime and reduced utility costs.
Condensation Prevention
Properly insulated cold-side systems with intact vapor barriers prevent condensation that causes water damage, mold, and corrosion in ceilings, walls, and mechanical spaces.
Noise Reduction
Insulated ductwork reduces airflow noise transmitted to occupied spaces. This is particularly important in office buildings, healthcare facilities, and other noise-sensitive environments.
Personnel Safety
Insulation on hot-water piping, steam systems, and equipment surfaces protects maintenance personnel and building occupants from accidental contact burns.
