Safety at Icebox Mechanical Corp.
Every crew member is trained, certified, and held to documented safety standards on every job site.
Our Safety Commitment
Safety is not a checkbox at Icebox. It is embedded in how crews are trained, how jobs are scoped, and how work is executed on site. Commercial HVAC work involves electrical systems, refrigerants, rooftop access, heavy equipment, and confined spaces. Every one of those elements demands specific training and consistent adherence to procedure.
Icebox maintains documented safety protocols for all field operations. Crews are expected to follow manufacturer guidelines, local code requirements, and OSHA standards without exception.
Credentials and Certifications
EPA 608 Certification
Universal Technician certification as required by 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F. This certification covers the handling of all regulated refrigerants across high-pressure, low-pressure, and small-appliance categories.
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
All Icebox crew members carry OSHA 30-Hour certification. This is not limited to lead technicians or supervisors — every field team member completes the full 30-hour program.
NYC DOB Scaffold Safety
Crew members working in New York City complete NYC Department of Buildings Scaffold Safety training as required for construction and maintenance operations involving scaffold access.
Manufacturer Training
Icebox technicians are factory-trained on all major commercial HVAC equipment lines. Manufacturer-specific training ensures that installations, service, and repairs follow the procedures set by each equipment maker, not generic practices.
Licensing and Continuing Education
Icebox currently maintains 7 state and local licenses across the markets it serves. Licensing is tracked internally and renewed on schedule to maintain compliance across all operating jurisdictions.
In addition to base certifications, Icebox invests in continuing education through manufacturer-specific training programs. As equipment technology evolves — including variable refrigerant flow systems, inverter-driven compressors, and building management system integrations — the crew stays current through ongoing coursework and hands-on factory training.
Credentials last verified: May 2026.
